Pressure

Pressure may not be as common an energy source as some of the others we have discussed, but if there is an unwanted contact or uncontrolled release of pressure the consequences can be quite serious. We define pressure as a force which is applied by a liquid or gas which is compressed, or under a vacuum.

Probably the most readily identifiable types of pressurized equipment will be a gas bottle and air compressors. There is a hydraulic system in every vehicle. At the process facilities pressure is present all the time. Process piping, LPG storage, pressurized process equipment, etc.
