AGT: Authorized Gas Tester - An individual trained and certified to conduct gas testing following established protocols.

CH₄: Methane - The main constituent of natural gas.

H₂S: Hydrogen Sulfide - A toxic, flammable gas with a foul odor of rotten eggs.

LEL: Lower Explosive Limit - The minimum concentration of a flammable gas or vapor in air below which flame propagation cannot occur.

UEL: Upper Explosive Limit - The maximum concentration of a flammable gas or vapor in air above which flame propagation cannot occur.

PPM: Parts Per Million - A unit of concentration indicating the number of parts of a substance per million parts of the mixture (usually air).

PELO: Permissible Exposure Limit - The maximum allowable average exposure to an airborne substance over an 8-hour workday as established by OSHA.

ESTELA: Short-Term Exposure Limit - The maximum allowable exposure to a substance for a short period (usually 15 minutes) within a workday, even if the TWA falls within the PEL.

Techo: Maximum Peak Level - The absolute exposure limit that should not be exceeded at any time.

TWA: Time-Weighted Average - The average concentration of a substance a worker is exposed to over a standard workday (typically 8 hours for TLV® and PEL, 10 hours for REL).

LC₅₀: Lethal Concentration - The concentration of a substance in air that can kill 50% of a test animal population within a specific exposure time.

LD₅₀: Lethal Dosage - The dose of a substance required to kill 50% of a test animal population by a specific route of exposure (e.g., inhalation, ingestion).

IDHL: Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health - An atmosphere posing an immediate threat to life or likely to cause severe health effects.
